Description
Maury County Government is soliciting bids for a qualified operator to lease and operate its transfer station at 1233 Lawson White Drive in Columbia, Tennessee. The facility is permitted for up to 400 tons per day and may store up to 1,500 cubic yards of waste loaded onto trailers, but waste may not remain on the transfer station floor overnight. The successful bidder will set and collect tipping fees, compensate the County through per-ton and upfront lease payments, provide personnel and operating equipment, maintain the facility and its assets, operate and maintain a certified scale, handle and dispose of nonconforming or hazardous waste, and provide transportation and disposal services. The bidder must also maintain regulatory compliance, submit monthly tonnage reports, accept Maury County Solid Waste waste at the bid rates, and provide a $250,000 performance bond or a bond equal to 90 days of operating costs, whichever is greater, before contract execution. The initial term must be at least five years beginning January 1, 2027, with up to two five-year renewal terms.
