Description
The City of South Salt Lake and South Salt Lake Arts are requesting qualifications from artists or artist-led design teams to design and fabricate a permanent, large-scale artistic shade structure for the lawn area of Water Tower Plaza. The approximately 1,025-square-foot installation will serve as a highly visible, functional, and aesthetic anchor for a multigenerational public space and must be safe, durable, welcoming, and provide shade. The commission budget is up to $90,000. The scope includes design and fabrication, with the solicitation also identifying public artwork, art design services, art metals, and public artwork installation and maintenance. Submissions must follow the RFQ contents and format requirements and be submitted through the designated online form; separate documents or attachments will not be accepted. The sample insurance requirements identify workers’ compensation, general liability, professional liability, automobile liability, and excess or umbrella coverage requirements, with specified limits and endorsements, but the certificate is required before project initiation rather than at proposal submission.
