Description
This project involves construction of a new potable water system, including approximately 1,925 linear feet of 8-inch cement-mortar-lined and coated steel water main and 160 linear feet of 6-inch CML&C steel water main. The scope also includes water service laterals, private PVC service laterals, connections to existing and relocated meters, backflow devices, air-release and vacuum-relief assemblies, fire hydrant assemblies, valves, cathodic protection, trenching, traffic control, utility potholing, testing, disinfection, abandonment of existing water mains, and pavement and roadway restoration. The engineer's estimate is $2,150,000. The project requires a Class A California contractor's license, a bid security or bid guaranty bond of at least 10 percent of the total bid, and payment and performance bonds each equal to at least 100 percent of the contract price. The contract time is 60 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed, with construction work generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
