Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior, through the Interior Business Center and United States Wildland Fire Service, is soliciting one fully contractor-operated and maintained Type 3 light rotary-wing aircraft for exclusive-use aviation services. The helicopter must support natural-resource and fire-suppression missions, including smokejumper retrieval, passenger and cargo transport, initial attack, fire suppression, fire monitoring, prescribed fire, aerial ignition, reconnaissance, and related resource activities. The contractor must provide the aircraft, qualified primary and relief pilots, mechanics, required avionics and communications systems, water/retardant buckets, external-load equipment, survival and first-aid kits, and associated support equipment. The designated base is Fort Wainwright, Alaska, with dispatch possible throughout Alaska and the contiguous United States. The contract is a single-award IDIQ with firm-fixed unit-price task orders, a five-year ordering period from April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2032, and a potential six-month extension. Each annual exclusive-use period is expected to be 120 days. The acquisition is a 100% small-business set-aside, and proposals are evaluated on technical capability, organizational safety, past performance, and total evaluated price.
