The California Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting bus transportation services for the Santa Barbara Junior Lifeguard Program from June 14 through July 30, 2027, for a total of 34 service days. The contractor must provide weekday transportation on West County and East County routes between designated pickup locations and Refugio State Beach, with approximately 80 children per route. Program transportation generally operates between morning pickups and afternoon drop-offs, with service during program hours from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The scope also includes transportation for field trips to specified beaches and parks, including Gaviota State Beach, Goleta Beach Park, Carpinteria City Beach, Jalama County Beach Park, and Santa Barbara East Beach. One field trip may require an additional bus. A Commercial B license with passenger endorsement is required. Bidders must submit the completed bid package and applicable state forms, and the awarded contractor must maintain specified general liability, motor vehicle liability, and workers’ compensation/employer’s liability insurance.
