Description
The City of Benicia is soliciting proposals for comprehensive vegetation management and herbicide application services at 84 predetermined sites. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, traffic control, and legally compliant application practices for pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide treatments covering roadsides, trails, sewer access roads, city properties, the police shooting range, water and wastewater treatment facilities, solar arrays, Lake Herman Dam, the city cemetery, and fire-break access roads. The work includes four scheduled application periods—fall 2026, spring 2027, fall 2027, and spring 2028—along with written recommendations from a California-licensed Pest Control Adviser and performance under the direct supervision of a Qualified Applicator License holder with specified landscape-maintenance and right-of-way categories. Written recommendations must be submitted for City approval 30 days before the initial application, and application records are due within 10 days after each application. Glyphosate products are prohibited, and all work must comply with product labels, safety requirements, drift-control measures, and applicable laws.
