Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale two items of standing timber on approximately 199.5 acres within nine separate blocks (A through I) at Fort Pickett Military Installation in Nottoway and Brunswick County, Virginia. The timber will be sold by weight (tons) and includes pine sawtimber, pine chip-n-saw, pine pulpwood, oak sawtimber, poplar sawtimber, miscellaneous hardwood sawtimber, hardwood pulpwood, and chips. Item 1 consists of three clearcut blocks (A, B, C) totaling 103.2 acres, and Item 2 consists of one clearcut block (D) and five thinning blocks (E, F, G, H, I) totaling 94.5 acres. The contract period of performance requires all tree felling, skidding, processing, hauling, demobilization, chipping, and site repair work to be completed by May 14, 2027, with no harvest operations between May 15 and October 31. Attendance at the pre-bid tour on August 25, 2026 is required. Sealed bids will be accepted until 1:00 p.m. on September 10, 2026, and then publicly opened. The sale is subject to the terms and conditions of the Invitation for Bid, including compliance with Virginia Forestry Best Management Practices.
