Description
The National Forest Foundation is soliciting proposals for emergency Hurricane Helene recovery work on approximately 870 acres in the Appalachian Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest. The selected contractor will remove designated storm-damaged trees, process sawtimber and pulpwood, haul materials to approved destinations, maintain approximately 11 miles of haul roads, and develop approximately 1.7 miles of temporary roads with stream crossings. The scope also includes erosion-control and restoration work, including water bars, slash placement, seeding, mulching, deck restoration, drainage maintenance, and road grading and aggregate placement. Contractors must provide the equipment, labor, supervision, and project management needed for performance; proposals must include technical approach, work plan and schedule, personnel, qualifications, similar-project experience, three references, past failed projects or legal actions, pricing, payment schedule, and current insurance information. The solicitation states that prevailing wages apply and that selected contractors must satisfy specified insurance and payment/performance-security requirements.
