Description
The University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks a design-build solution for two custom contained processing environments to support receipt of irradiated targets from a nearby cyclotron, At-211 separation and purification, radiopharmaceutical synthesis and formulation, and research involving At-211 and potentially Pb-212. The system must integrate appropriate ISO-classified workspaces, negative-pressure containment for radioactive volatiles, activated-charcoal exhaust filtration and monitoring provisions, shielding, chemical-resistant interiors, target-transfer interfaces, utilities, pass-throughs, and waste-management features. The contractor’s scope includes engineering, fabrication, delivery, installation and coordination, factory and site acceptance testing, training, documentation, warranty support, and related technical assistance. The proposal must describe the technical approach, design and schedule, safety and containment, shielding, workflow and ISO performance, research capabilities, infrastructure integration, maintainability, chemical compatibility, and relevant experience. The stated maximum equipment budget is $900,000; building modifications and A/E fees are excluded. The contract is for one year, with an optional second year by mutual agreement.
