Description
Dane County is seeking a qualified consultant to evaluate current and future public safety voice, paging, and interoperability needs across approximately 85 agencies and roughly 1,000 system users. The work covers existing VHF and 800 MHz P25 systems, conventional and trunked architectures, paging, microwave and fiber backhaul, communications centers, towers and sites, backup power, hospital and emergency medical interfaces, and related infrastructure serving county, municipal, state, university, and other public safety users. The consultant will perform stakeholder engagement, needs assessment, infrastructure documentation, interoperability and coverage analyses, propagation studies, alternatives evaluation, cost and benefit analysis, migration and transition planning, electronic system documentation, training recommendations, and development of a vendor-neutral RFP. The consultant will also support the County’s subsequent procurement and evaluation process. Proposals must include organizational capabilities, comparable projects from the past five years with references, key staff resumes, project approach, schedule and work plan, and pricing. The proposal response and any cost proposal documents must be submitted as PDFs with the solicitation number and business name in the file name; the required W-9 must have been signed within the past 12 months.
