Description
The City of Tampa is soliciting bids to modernize the Tampa Convention Center's electrical distribution system. The base scope includes an initial condition assessment, a pilot main-breaker modernization, modernization of fourteen low-voltage switchboards, installation of new circuit breakers with electronic trip units, digital metering, surge protection where applicable, communications capability, commissioning, functional testing, infrared baseline scanning, updated coordination and arc-flash studies, labeling, and corrected panel schedules. Three 4,160-volt medium-voltage switchgear units are to be retained and protected, subject to field verification. The work also includes mechanical conditioning of Electrical Room H and the CEP/Chiller Plant and Generator Room, room sealing and fire-rated separation, firestopping, access and rigging work, temporary generator provisions, fire-alarm impairment procedures and fire watch, permits, warranties, training, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built documentation. Optional separately priced items include Power Monitoring Expert software and SCADA integration. The bid notice identifies an estimated project value of $16,000,000; the proposal includes a five-percent bid security requirement and a 100-percent public construction bond for the awarded contractor.
