The South Penobscot Water Association is requesting bids for pump house improvements, including replacement of the well pump, two high-lift pumps, five bladder tanks, and a chlorine feed pump. The work also includes selected piping, fittings, valves, appurtenances, insulation, concrete improvements to existing tank pads, and exterior door and frame preparation and painting. The contractor must provide demolition, equipment, labor, materials, and three temporary workarounds to maintain water service during the improvements. The project is expected to take 150 days and requires American Iron and Steel compliance, disadvantaged business enterprise requirements, federal requirements, Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, and submission of a signed Compliance Statement with the initial bid. A bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the bidder’s maximum bid price is required.
