Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting a small-business contractor to perform one-time maintenance dredging of the Isle au Haut Thoroughfare Federal Navigation Project. The work includes mechanically removing approximately 3,355 cubic yards of highly compacted coarse sand and gravel, with areas of cobbles and isolated small boulders, from a 1,200-foot-long navigation channel. The channel must be dredged to the authorized depth plus required advance maintenance and allowable overdepth. The contractor must transport and place the dredged material at the Flake Island Disposal Site, approximately one nautical mile from the project. The anticipated allowable dredging window is September 15 through April 1 to avoid impacts to spawning shellfish, benthic resources, federally managed species, threatened and endangered species, and mobile fishing gear. Electronic bid submission through the PIEE Solicitation Module is required, and the original bid guarantee must also be mailed or delivered by the bid-opening deadline.
