Description
The City of Palo Alto is soliciting armored courier services for the secure, same-day retrieval of City revenue from six designated facilities and delivery to the City's designated banking agent, the U.S. Bank Oakland Cash Vault. Scheduled pickups occur on specified weekdays at Revenue Collections, Palo Alto Municipal Airport, Lucie Stern, Mitchell Park Community Center, the Art Center, and the Police Department. The contractor must adhere to the collection schedule, allow ten minutes per scheduled pickup, provide emergency-service and vehicle-disablement procedures, address storage and reimbursement if same-day delivery cannot occur, and maintain shipment-liability arrangements. The initial agreement term is November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2029, with up to two additional 12-month extensions. Proposals must include a technical proposal, completed firm-experience form, separate cost proposal, evidence of financial stability, required questionnaire responses, and other applicable information. The contractor must hold a California Highway Patrol armored-car operator license; vehicles require CHP inspection and authorization, and armed guards require applicable California BSIS firearms permits. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, employer's liability, general liability, automobile liability, and professional liability as specified in the solicitation.
