Description
The Department of the Air Force requires non-personal services to inspect, test, and maintain wet, dry, and clean-agent sprinkler systems; standpipe systems; post indicator valves; Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus systems; kitchen hood suppression systems; fire pumps; and backflow preventers at Hanscom Air Force Base and Sagamore Hill Observatory. Work includes inspections at annual and multi-year intervals, monthly and two-year fire pump tasks, backflow testing and repairs, kitchen hood functional testing, VESDA filter replacement, reporting, and compliance with applicable UFC, NFPA, Massachusetts, federal, and manufacturer requirements. The contractor must provide qualified and currently Massachusetts-certified or licensed personnel for the applicable fire suppression, backflow, sprinkler-fitting, and fire-alarm work. The contractor must maintain a 24/7/365 emergency response capability for Hanscom AFB and have a certified technician physically on site within 60 minutes of government dispatch. The scope also includes supplying necessary labor, tools, equipment, transportation, materials, and parts when approved; maintaining required safety, environmental, hazardous-material, access, and reporting procedures; and performing work during specified weekday hours unless otherwise approved. The contract is evaluated on a lowest-price-technically-acceptable basis over one base year and four one-year option periods.
