Description
The City of Galveston is soliciting a contractor to provide janitorial services at six municipal facilities totaling approximately 53,000 square feet per week. Services include trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, dusting, restroom cleaning and restocking, coffee-bar cleaning, glass and furniture cleaning, stairwell and floor care, high dusting, carpet spot cleaning, and periodic stripping, waxing, and polishing of tile and terrazzo floors. Carpet cleaning is excluded. The contractor must furnish cleaning products and equipment, provide uniformed employees with visible identification badges, maintain staffing continuity with substitutes as needed, secure buildings after service, and report facility defects. The City may add or remove facilities, and emergency staffing may be requested at an hourly rate. The proposal must include the completed proposal document, required certifications and statements, pricing proposal, addenda checklist if applicable, four similar-service references, and responses to the proposer questionnaire. Evaluation factors are cost, reputation and references, janitorial-services experience, and staffing and quality-control capability. The agreement is for three years with two successive one-year renewal periods, subject to the stated renewal terms.
