Description

Houston Independent School District is seeking individual contractors to rewrite and improve existing Reading and Language Arts instructional materials for grades K–8. Work may include reading passages, lesson slide decks, demonstrations of learning, student activities, learner support materials, answer keys, assessment items, vocabulary lists, glossaries, and anchor charts. Content must preserve the original learning objectives and accuracy while improving readability, engagement, inclusivity, cultural responsiveness, grammar, structure, accessibility, copyright compliance, and alignment with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Contractors must conduct an internal review, submit work for client review, and address up to two or three revision rounds per item. The opportunity establishes an Approved Vendor pool, with potential multiple awards and no guaranteed volume. Services are limited to individual contractors, must be self-performed, and may not be subcontracted. Compensation is $500 per 1,000-word document. Respondents must submit the required portal attributes, line items, forms, and documents, including an official resume or curriculum vitae, Form 1295, W-9, Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, Criminal History Background Check form, Pre-Employment/Pre-Service Affidavit when applicable, and fingerprint appointment registration when applicable.
