Description

Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC, operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy, is soliciting a firm-fixed-price quotation for a noncommercial low-temperature scanning probe microscope and its integration into an existing multiprobe ultra-high-vacuum surface analysis system. Amendment 3 updates the requirement to SOW Version 6 and Technical Specifications Version 4, adds or confirms a removable magnetic-field assembly, seven electrical contacts, custom cabling, and joint STM and AFM performance testing, and removes fixed dates from the deliverables schedule; dates will be established at award. The scope includes custom design and fabrication of a UHV SPM chamber with sample-transfer and storage mechanisms, a low-temperature SPM scanner, sample stage, removable magnetic-field assembly, internal STM and qPlus-AFM electronics, modified radiation shielding, and cabling compatible with the existing Scienta Omicron MATRIX controller. The supplier must provide descriptive technical material, at least three references for comparable LT-STM/qPlus-AFM systems, quality-system documentation, a U.S. service-engineer network summary, and required testing, reporting, operating and maintenance documentation. The supplier will deliver components, perform on-site installation and wiring, and jointly test STM and AFM operation with laboratory staff. Offerors must submit revised quotations addressing the amendments and confirm whether previously submitted pricing remains valid.
