Description
The Le Mars Public Library Board of Trustees is soliciting qualified architectural and/or building consulting services to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study and concept plan for expanding the library beyond its current 7,839-square-foot facility. The study will evaluate the current library site, a convention center site, an elementary school site, and an undetermined location for a potential new build, with the goal of accommodating approximately 25,045 square feet of space and the programming needs identified in the 2022 assessment. The scope includes site analysis; code and accessibility compliance; space utilization; structural integrity; assessment of water and sewer, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications systems; roadway and parking analysis; concept-level construction budgets for each site; conceptual layouts; and consideration of joint use with governmental or nonprofit organizations. The selected consultant will prepare for and participate in Library Board, City Council, and public engagement meetings. Proposals must include the required cover page, company overview, project schedule, scope and methodology, detailed all-inclusive cost proposal, and references for similar public library projects.
