Description
The Town seeks a qualified Colorado attorney to serve as an alternate municipal judge when the presiding judge is unavailable and as a hearing officer for administrative liquor and marijuana licensing matters. Duties include presiding over court proceedings, making rulings, evaluating evidence, issuing judgments and orders, and conducting hearings fairly and in accordance with due process. The role is expected to cover approximately three court sessions per year, with additional court matters as needed. Applicants must be licensed and in good standing in Colorado, have at least five years of active legal practice or judicial service, meet the stated legal and procedural knowledge requirements, and pass a criminal background check. Proposals must include a cover letter and resume, relevant experience, conflict-of-interest disclosures, professional references, and proposed compensation. The anticipated appointment and swearing-in date is December 8, 2026, with a stated start date of February 11, 2027.
