Description
The New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority is seeking qualifications from multi-disciplinary law firms to create a short list of outside Special Legal Counsel. Required capabilities span Casino Control Act and public-agency governance matters; commercial lending; commercial and construction litigation, including bankruptcy; condemnation and eminent domain; labor and employment; environmental law; public contracts; and real estate, redevelopment, and land use. Respondents must demonstrate qualified personnel and resources across all identified practice areas, address conflicts of interest, provide firm and attorney experience information, and describe relevant governmental and public-sector representations. The selected firms may be retained for individual matters at the Authority's discretion and must support activities including complex contract drafting, legal opinions, eminent-domain matters, litigation, discovery, court appearances, settlement negotiations, appeals, and quarterly matter-status reporting. The RFQ states that the Authority intends to award a three-year contract, with an initial term from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029. Hourly rates are specified by personnel category, ranging from $105 for paralegals to $290 for partners and of counsel.
