Description
Appalachian State University is soliciting a single-prime contractor to furnish the labor, materials, and equipment required for the New River Light and Power Oak Grove Substation Miscellaneous Repairs project. Proposals are to be submitted on a lump-sum basis. Contractors must hold the appropriate North Carolina license for the applicable trades; because this is a single-prime project involving multiple trades, the prime contractor generally must hold the required general contractor license unless an applicable statutory exception applies. A bid security deposit or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the proposal is required. The successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract price. The project includes a pre-bid meeting and a public bid opening; the provided materials do not include detailed plans, specifications, quantities, or a complete list of repair tasks.
