Description
New Brunswick Power Corporation is soliciting construction services for a new 32-kilometre, 138 kV double-circuit transmission line, Lines L1250/L1251, from the Coleson Cove 138 kV terminal station to an intersection with Lines 1149 and 1212 northeast of Saint John. The scope covers Segments 1 and 2 and includes approximately 104 self-supporting lattice steel towers, foundations, geotechnical investigation and foundation selection, tower assembly and erection, grounding and counterpoise, conductor and overhead ground wire installation, insulator and line hardware installation, testing, pre-commissioning, cleanup, and reclamation. The line will use two circuits of 795,000 kcmil ACSR “Drake” conductor, with AACSR 1,192,500 kcmil “Grackle” conductor over the Saint John River. The contractor must manage laydown yards, access construction, owner-supplied materials, work near energized lines, river and railway crossings, environmental controls, quality management, and removal of an existing 3.5-kilometre 69 kV double-circuit line with 14 lattice towers. Addendum 1 adds contractor-supplied tower grounding and counterpoise hardware, including copper-clad ground rods, connectors, and J-bolts.
