Description
The City of La Marque is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified, licensed roofing contractors for the Public Works Building A roof project. The base bid requires removal and disposal of the existing corrugated metal R-panels on the approximately 10,700-square-foot Original Building and installation of a new prefinished metal roof panel system, including insulation upgrades as needed to meet the current energy code, vapor retarder and spacer blocks, replacement of four ridge ventilators, risewall flashing, plumbing-vent flashing, gutters, downspouts, soffit panels, fasteners, sealants, closures, and related sheet-metal work. The contractor must maintain a weathertight occupied facility, provide permits, disposal, safety and fall protection, and comply with applicable building, energy, wind-uplift, drainage, manufacturer, SMACNA, MBMA, and OSHA requirements. Proposers must also price two alternatives for the approximately 15,000-square-foot Addition: full roof replacement or targeted repairs, with the City selecting either alternative or neither. The work includes manufacturer wind-uplift documentation, product data, shop drawings, samples, warranties, a project schedule, and a proposed approach. Required proposal materials include the Proposal Form, Contractor Qualifications Questionnaire, at least three comparable project references completed within the last five years, key personnel resumes, project approach, product and warranty information, schedule, safety documentation, statutory certifications and disclosures, and five-percent bid security. The selected contractor must provide a 20-year no-dollar-limit weathertightness warranty, a 25-year finish warranty, and a two-year workmanship warranty.
