Description
The California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) is issuing a Request for Offer (RFO) to procure the services of an experienced System Architect. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise architecture, system architecture, solution architecture, technical leadership, and software application design and development, particularly within large organizations. The selected System Architect will be responsible for the overall system design, high-level planning, and managing the requirements for complex systems, working within the Business Connect initiative. The services are expected to span up to thirty-six (36) months, with an option to extend for an additional twenty-four (24) months, with an estimated 175 work hours per month. The work is to be performed on-site at CalSTRS headquarters in West Sacramento, CA, though CalSTRS may allow for a hybrid or remote approach based on business needs. The System Architect will collaborate closely with CalSTRS project management and a third-party vendor to ensure project deliverables meet quality expectations and are completed in a timely manner. Key responsibilities include evaluating technical dependencies, analyzing architectural options, and guiding the technical implementation of projects, particularly those based on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
