Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) requires electron beam (EB) welding qualification services to support the manufacture and delivery of United States Navy submarine propulsors. The contractor will develop EB weld procedures and manufacture a minimum of three Nickel Aluminum Bronze (NAB) "S1L" part configurations to become approved for production welding. This effort is for unqualified NSWCCD electron welding contractors only. The contractor must maintain ISO 9001:2015 compliant quality controls, ensure all workmanship meets drawing requirements, and properly store, handle, and ship all unclassified materials. Government-furnished material (GFM) will be provided, and the contractor will be responsible for machining, inspection, and NDT of piece parts. Welders must hold current certification to AWS D17.1. A minimum Confidential level security clearance is required for personnel and the workspace, although the qualification effort itself is Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The period of performance is six months from the contract award date. Deliverables include various technical reports, quality control plans, welding procedures, and weld qualification test reports.
