Description
The City of Mount Holly is soliciting bids for construction to replace approximately 1,700 linear feet of 6-inch waterline along Tuckaseege Road and Broome Street with an 8-inch watermain, extending within the limits of the City of Mount Holly Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is currently being decommissioned. The work includes Insert-a-valve connections to the existing water system, two fire hydrants with associated fittings, valves and thrust restraints, open-cut pavement removal and replacement, traffic control, reconnection of existing water services, and abandonment of the existing waterline. The work must reach substantial completion within 120 calendar days after contract times commence and final completion within 135 calendar days. Liquidated damages are $200 per day. Bids must include a certified check or bid bond payable to the City of Mount Holly equal to 5% of the base bid, and bidders must hold a North Carolina contractor's license. Bids must be submitted using the required two-envelope system; the complete bid-submittal requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which were not provided.
