Description
The Bureau of Land Management intends to award a sole-source contract for three Teledyne FLIR Recon HD high-definition, dual-sensor long-range thermal binocular/camera systems with 2x doubler lenses. The systems must be Section 889 compliant, lightweight, and integrate a low-light visible camera with a cooled MWIR imager, including a 1280 x 720 thermal sensor, HOT MWIR cryo-cooled focal plane array, and 8-micron pixel pitch. The equipment will support law-enforcement missions such as suspect detection and identification, small unmanned aircraft detection, operational overwatch, search and rescue, evidence collection, and reconnaissance. The agency states that the Recon HD is the only identified Section 889-compliant solution meeting its requirements and interfacing with existing field equipment.
