Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contracting Office 23, is soliciting bids to upgrade nine bathrooms in the Transitional Rehabilitation House at the Grand Island VA Medical Center. The work includes demolition and removal of existing fixtures; installation of tubs or showers, toilets, vanities, vinyl flooring, wall wainscotting, medicine cabinets, hardware, tempering valves, and an exhaust fan for bathroom 11; and associated carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and finish work. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, and supervision. Amendment 0001 provides questions, answers, clarifications, additional Building 05 drawings, and a site-visit sign-in sheet. It permits specified alternatives and installation methods, including PVC Schedule 40 for shower drains and vents, Type L copper piping, center-drain showers, certain shower and vanity dimensions, stainless-steel toilet repair flanges, and coordinated replacement of vanity lights. The project remains a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside with an estimated construction magnitude of $250,000 to $500,000 and a 135-calendar-day performance period beginning upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed.
