Description
The Town of Hamden seeks an on-call consulting town arborist to provide professional tree management services on an as-needed basis. The consultant will advise the Tree Warden, Public Works Department, Tree Commission, Planning and Zoning Office, and other town entities on pruning, removal, fertilization, routine tree treatments, tree planting and replacement, tree protest hearings, developer planting plans, and municipal construction projects. The consultant may also support development of a tree inventory, tree management plan, and updated street-tree list, with recommendations conforming to ANSI A300 standards. The consultant will not perform physical tree-removal, maintenance, or planting labor. The selected consultant must be an ISA Certified Arborist, hold an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, and be certified by the American Society of Consulting Arborists. Proposals must address qualifications and key personnel, relevant experience, references, hourly fees and rates, current liability and workers’ compensation coverage, and applicable certification numbers. The contract term is one year.
