Description

The National Park Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price commercial construction quotation to remove and legally dispose of the existing malfunctioning boiler system and furnish and install one high-efficiency, condensing, propane-fired hot-water boiler. The revised specifications require a floor-standing 95%-efficient fire-tube boiler with a stainless-steel heat exchanger, 110,000 BTU/hr maximum input, hydronic piping, a new four-zone manifold, valves and actuators, pump, controls, safety devices, venting, condensate drainage, insulation, feed-water equipment, testing, startup by a manufacturer-authorized technician, and operational and maintenance training. Optional line items cover removal of the existing hot-water heater, or removal and replacement with an 80-gallon indirect hot-water heater; only one optional item, or neither, may be awarded. The contractor must provide all supervision, labor, equipment, testing, and supplies; comply with applicable mechanical, fuel-gas, fire, boiler, wage, Buy American, and safety requirements; and submit product data, shop drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, a project-specific construction schedule, a five-page technical approach narrative, relevant experience and past-performance references, applicable California contractor licenses, and completed solicitation forms. The Government seeks quotations below $35,000 as a courtesy estimate, but this is not a firm price ceiling. Work must begin within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed and be completed within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed.
