This sources-sought notice seeks information from firms capable of conducting benthic surveys at the San Francisco Deep Ocean Disposal Site. The anticipated work includes box-core sediment sampling, sediment vertical profile imaging, chemistry sampling, sieving and preservation of biological samples, analysis of physical, chemical, and biological data, and preparation of a detailed report. The contractor would provide all personnel, equipment, materials, supervision, and services, including a suitable vessel exceeding 150 feet with crew, marine technician, cook, galley, laboratory and sleeping facilities, work deck, deep-water winches and cabling, and electronics for tracking a 12-megahertz pinger. The contractor must provide an eight-person crew and a Sandia MK-III 0.25-meter box corer, and demonstrate recent relevant experience sampling at depths exceeding 2,500 meters, including troubleshooting this equipment. The anticipated period of performance is May 1, 2027, through April 30, 2030, with the base-year cruise proposed for September or October 2027.
