Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole-source contract to Boston Scientific Corp. for premium service coverage of MicroPace StimCor and Boston Scientific Farastar systems. The scope includes preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, calibration, cleaning, lubrication, diagnostics, replacement of OEM parts, software and hardware upgrades, telephone support, priority response, on-site service, loaner equipment when available, and related travel and labor. The contractor must maintain at least 94% operational uptime, provide a telephone response within four hours during normal coverage hours, and begin on-site service within two business days when telephone resolution is unsuccessful. Services include documentation through engineering service reports, qualified and authorized field service engineers, current calibration certifications for test equipment, and compliance with applicable NFPA, UL, VA, and CDRH standards. The solicitation identifies the requirement as a sole-source award to Boston Scientific Corp. under FAR Part 13 and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
