Description
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is soliciting a contractor to perform as-needed replacement of ductile iron water mains, primarily for low-pressure potable water systems and also for high-pressure emergency fire water system pipelines. The work will support leak and break repairs and new development projects, with approximately 5,000 linear feet of water mains expected to be replaced annually over a three-year period. Related work may include trucking, hauling, shoring, pavement restoration, saw cutting, and traffic control. A Class A California contractor's license is required, and listed subcontractors must hold appropriate active licenses for their assigned work. Bidders must pass the agency's safety prequalification before bid consideration and must meet a 20% Local Business Enterprise subcontracting requirement using certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs, or submit the required documented good-faith efforts. The estimated cost is $27,545,000.
