Description
Wayne State University seeks an independent review of its School of Medicine admissions and student-success continuum, from recruitment and selection through graduation and residency placement. The selected firm must assess accreditation, legal and policy compliance; admissions governance, criteria, interviews, scoring, waitlist practices, and special pathways; student advising, tutoring, wellness, accommodations, remediation, leave, promotion, and appeals; staffing, resources, data governance, and reporting; and the causes of delayed progression, licensing-examination difficulty, gap years, remediation, and attrition. The review must distinguish correlation from causation and protect student privacy. The required approach includes policy and record review, process mapping and control testing, longitudinal quantitative analysis of at least five admissions cycles, case-file auditing, interviews and focus groups, peer benchmarking involving at least five comparable medical schools, staffing and resource analysis, and fact-validation sessions. Deliverables include a workplan and data plan, current-state assessment, diagnostic and benchmarking findings, preliminary findings with a 90-day action plan, and a final report and future-state plan with governance, staffing, technology, budget, metrics, and a 12- to 24-month roadmap. The proposal must include the required university schedules, vendor-created exhibits, fixed-fee pricing, at least three comparable engagements completed within five years, references, and two redacted work samples. The engagement is expected to begin on or about December 1, 2026, and conclude by June 30, 2027.
