Description

Jefferson County is seeking proposals for the lease of properties that were acquired as a result of a "buy-out" program, which qualified under the FEMA Mitigation Plan. These properties will be offered for lease to individuals or organizations. The lease term is for 5 years, with payment due at lease signing. Lessees will be responsible for maintaining the property, including mowing, and must adhere to any deed restrictions and specific use limitations outlined in the sample lease. Properties are not to be used for habitation, and no permanent structures may be constructed. The county makes no warranties regarding the quality of the property, and it will be leased "as is." The county will not maintain or provide repairs for private roads. Each property will be listed with an ID number, address, legal description, and coordinates. A map of the properties is provided. Lessees must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, deed restrictions, and subdivision covenants. The county reserves the right to enter the property at any time for its own purposes. The lease can be terminated by either party with ten days' written notice.
