Description
The City of Beaumont is soliciting proposals from qualified health providers to furnish annual occupational cancer screenings and medical examinations for its Fire Department personnel. These services are required in accordance with Texas House Bill 198 (The Wade Cannon Act) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. The selected provider will be responsible for conducting comprehensive screenings, including various imaging, laboratory tests, and medical consultations, to ensure the health, safety, and operational readiness of the firefighters. Approximately 182 firefighters are eligible for these screenings annually, and the provider will only be billed for examinations performed. The contract will be for an initial one-year period, with the possibility of two additional one-year renewals at agreed-upon prices.
