Description
This is a Sources Sought notice for the ME-32 South Grand Chenier Baker Tract Marsh Creation Project, located in the Mermentau Basin, Chenier Sub-Basin, and Hog Bayou Watershed in southwest Louisiana. The project aims to create and nourish approximately 466 acres of marsh by using material dredged from the Gulf of America. It also includes the construction of approximately 20,375 linear feet of earthen containment dike. The primary goals are to create new wetland habitat, restore degraded marsh areas, and reduce wave erosion of organic soils. The project is estimated to be between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The Statement of Work (Attachment 01) further details the project, including a 339-day construction schedule with 38 weather days. Key contractor requirements include providing a Project Manager, QC Manager, Safety Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman. The award will be based on the lowest cost, technically acceptable offer, with specific criteria for experience in marsh creation, hydraulic dredging in similar environments, and earthen dike construction. Management and scheduling plans are also critical evaluation factors.
