The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing, installing, configuring, commissioning, testing, and supporting a Mass Notification System (MNS) for the VA of the Ozarks at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center. The system must integrate seamlessly with existing emergency communication environments, including current radio systems, IP-network infrastructure, VoIP components, and desktop alerting capabilities. A sole-source procurement is being considered due to the need for compatibility, standardization, continuity of operations, and interoperability with currently deployed VA alerting components. Key requirements for the system include high-power outdoor speaker arrays, a centralized communication control unit, DC backup battery systems, seismic-rated roof-mount hardware, IP-based communication interfaces, radio interfaces compatible with existing UHF/VHF Motorola analog systems, UHF antennas, coaxial cabling, licensing for radio frequency operation, an operator console with live-voice paging, implementation services, start-up and acceptance testing, travel, lodging, per diem, licensing and support services, preventive maintenance, spare parts kits, integration services compatible with Cisco-based VoIP infrastructure, and desktop alerting licensing. The contractor will be responsible for all hardware, software, components, installation, programming, commissioning, validation, documentation, training, and warranty support. The project is expected to have a kickoff within 10 business days of award, with installation completed within approximately 4-6 weeks.
