Description
The City of Durham is soliciting sealed bids for Contract EGI-2025-01, Highway 55 Sidewalk Extension. The work will provide pedestrian connectivity from the Riddle Road trail, extending southerly along the Circle K frontage. The contractor is responsible for all construction layout necessary to construct the sidewalk in accordance with the construction drawings, coordinating with the engineer when field conditions require adjustments. The contract time for substantial completion is 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes, submit a non-collusion affidavit with their bids, and provide bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond for at least 5% of the total bid. Addendum No. 1 deletes the Contractor Workforce Diversity Questionnaire requirement and Appendix N; carbon concrete is not required, Class A concrete at 3,000 psi is required, six concrete curb ramps remain in the bid, and aggregate base course is only used where unsuitable subgrade is encountered and directed by the engineer.
