Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is soliciting bids for a prevailing-wage construction project to replace the high-temperature hot-water heat exchanger, control valves, pumps, associated piping, and related equipment at Mackay Science. The work also includes modifications to existing electrical and controls systems and concrete equipment pads. Work must be performed outside the heating season, preferably during the summer when the building is mostly unoccupied. Qualified welders are required for all welding on the high-temperature hot-water distribution system. The estimated cost range is $274,000 to $374,000, and liquidated damages are $500 per day. The scheduled work period is May 18, 2027, through September 3, 2027, subject to change by the owner.
