Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting a Sources Sought notice for triennial circuit breaker and feeder testing at the VA Reno Health Care System. The anticipated work includes testing medium-voltage oil-cooled switches, liquid-filled and air-cooled transformers, low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers rated 225 amperes and above, and feeder cables in accordance with ANSI/NETA MTS. The contractor would furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and testing. The scope also includes very-low-frequency testing of medium-voltage cables; torqueing and meggering connections; functional breaker testing; standard and infrared photography; site visits to all medium-voltage vaults; an overcurrent protective-device coordination study with updated single-line diagrams; and an arc flash hazard analysis with new campus-wide labels. Testing is to occur during off-hours and weekends, while photography is to occur during normal hours. Final reports, photographs, studies in PDF/CAD formats, and cost estimates for deficiencies and full medium-voltage cable replacement would be due within seven days after completion. The anticipated period of performance is 60–90 days after notice to proceed. This is a planning notice only, and no contract will be awarded directly from it.
