Description
Broome County Office for Aging is seeking proposals from qualified agencies to provide shopper services for older adults who are homebound, unable to shop, or lack informal support. Multiple grantees may be selected across three service categories: volunteer, staff, or intern-supported shopping and home delivery with client contact; transportation of clients to stores and return of clients and purchases; and online-shopping assistance by phone or in person. Services may be provided in clients’ homes and online, and online-shopping programs must address client-device access, payment protection, delivery arrangements, and telephone reassurance where applicable. Providers must recruit, train, supervise, and conduct background checks on personnel and volunteers; match them with eligible clients; support weekly or biweekly shopping; maintain service and contribution records; submit monthly reports and invoices; and provide program, staffing, recruitment, client-satisfaction, service-delivery, and budget information. The contract is intended for a 12-month term with up to four optional one-year renewals. Up to $75,000 in county funding is available annually for the overall program, with required matching contributions based on the amount awarded.
