Description
The City of Bloomington is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to construct the structural concrete foundations for the Undulate outdoor art installation at Hopewell Commons Park. The work includes excavation, formwork, rebar installation, concrete placement, backfilling, and careful handling of existing landscaping and park features. The contractor will install ten concrete footers of varying sizes: six Type 1 footers (two 24-inch diameter sonotubes per sculpture, minimum 36 inches deep) for sculptures A, B, and C, and four Type 2 footers (4'6" x 6'-0" spread footers with square pedestals) for sculptures D and E. All work must comply with the project drawings and specifications, including Grade 60 rebar and 4000-PSI air-entrained concrete. The contractor must participate in a pre-construction site walk, coordinate with the project electrician for conduit placement, and follow designated vehicle and equipment routes to prevent damage to park infrastructure. Upon completion, all formwork must be removed, disturbed areas restored, and the site left clean and ready for sculpture installation.
