Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane intends to solicit bids for the design and construction of a new Virtualized Electromagnetic Warfare and Mission Engineering Center (VEWMEC). This facility will be a single-story building designed to support mission engineering and operations-based testing, including collaborative spaces, offices, and reconfigurable laboratories equipped with advanced cybersecurity features. The construction must comply with ICD 705 and UFC anti-terrorism standards (4-010-01). Supporting spaces will include a lobby, breakroom, restrooms, receiving area, server room, and mechanical/electrical rooms. The project also involves site preparation, including paving, utilities, stormwater management, and incidental improvements. Three different floor plans (6,900 SF, 8,100 SF, and 8,900 SF) will be solicited, with the final construction plan selected based on bid cost. The estimated construction duration is 674 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. This is a Firm-Fixed-Price contract under NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction). The magnitude of construction is estimated between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
