Description
The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina seeks sealed bids from licensed general contractors to clear 33 acres of land. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, permits, materials, fees, and disposal needed to complete the project. This is a single-prime solicitation restricted to qualified tribal and/or Indian-owned enterprises and organizations. At least 75% of subcontracts and material suppliers must be tribal and/or Indian-owned enterprises or organizations; the submitted list of subcontractors and suppliers cannot be changed without written permission. Bidders must provide general liability insurance coverage of $500,000, workers’ compensation coverage of $300,000 aggregate, a North Carolina general contractor’s license with the proper classification, proof of tribal enrollment, and a list of subcontractors and material suppliers. A bid bond, certified check, or irrevocable letter of credit equal to 5% of the bid is required, and bonding companies must be on the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s approved sureties list. For contracts exceeding $150,000, the selected contractor must provide a payment/performance bond for 100% of the contract amount within 14 calendar days; builder’s risk insurance is also required for each project.
