Description
Lexington County is soliciting bids from a single prime contractor for select roof replacement and repairs at the Lexington County Judicial Center. The work includes full tear-off of existing roofing; installation of a fully adhered 60-mil PVC/KEE roofing system with insulation, flashings, accessories, and walkways; rehabilitation or replacement of steel roof decking; replacement of wood nailers and steel plates; repairs to standing-seam metal roofing and batten covers; sheet-metal flashing and trim; joint sealants; lightning-protection reconnection; scaffolding, temporary protection, cleanup, and related construction activities. The project includes a $10,000 contingency allowance and specified unit-cost allowances for steel deck rehabilitation, steel deck replacement, steel plate installation, wood nailer replacement, and standing-seam batten-cover replacement. The contractor must provide a five-percent proposal bond with the bid; performance and payment bonds of 100 percent are required for contracts of $50,000 or more under the stated conditions. A 90-calendar-day completion period is included in the bid form, and the work carries extensive insurance, licensing, quality-control, warranty, and site-protection requirements.
