The Alabama Building Renovation Finance Authority is soliciting bids for the Gordon Persons Building HVAC Repair Through Replacement project (DCM #2025717), located in Montgomery, Alabama. The project involves replacing the HVAC system in the central energy plant of the Gordon Persons Building at 50 North Ripley Street. The work includes replacing two 825-ton water-cooled centrifugal chillers with three 400-ton water-cooled magnetic bearing centrifugal chillers, and removing two existing steam boilers and associated equipment to be replaced with three 6,000 MBH high-efficiency fire-tube condensing boilers. Additionally, pumps, piping, controls, electrical, and other associated components will be replaced and reconfigured to accommodate the updated plant layout. The machine room exhaust will be updated, a new refrigerant monitor and leak detection system will be provided, and existing pneumatic controls will be upgraded with a new BACnet DDC building automated system. Prequalification is required for this project, and only pre-qualified general contractors may bid. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held for pre-qualified contractors. Bids must be submitted on the provided proposal forms and must include a bid bond or cashier's check. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance.
