Description
The Retirement Systems of Alabama is soliciting bids for the multi-phase demolition and removal of the existing Alabama Statehouse and an adjacent concrete parking structure in Montgomery. The work includes coordination with ongoing adjacent construction, capping and disconnecting utilities, rerouting utilities, limited environmental abatement, site demolition, grading, erosion control, and site protection. Bidders must submit proposals on forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof and display their current Alabama general contractor license number on the sealed envelope and Proposal Form when applicable. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the Retirement Systems of Alabama, equal to at least 5% of the bid amount and capped at $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, insurance, and E-Verify enrollment verification are required at contract signing. A pre-bid conference and work-area tour is scheduled for September 15, 2026; attendance is highly recommended but not stated as mandatory.
