Description
Grey County is soliciting a quote for the purchase and harvesting of marked wood products from Wickens Forest, including white pine, white spruce, and red pine. The work includes harvesting, processing tops, hauling or arranging hauling, protecting residual trees and property, maintaining roads and trails, managing waste and spills, and complying with applicable forestry, safety, environmental, and permitting requirements. The successful bidder must pay the full bid price before cutting begins, operate within the permitted operating period, and avoid harvesting from April 1 through August 1. Whole-tree skidding is prohibited, log lengths may not exceed 36 feet, and only marked trees may be cut. The bid package must include the completed Quotation and Pricing Form, Bidder Information Form, and a bid deposit equal to at least 10% of the total bid. Insurance, WSIB documentation, and emergency-contact information are required after award and before harvesting begins.
